When we speak of tea to prevent cancer usually referred to tea varieties (especially in relation to green tea). This is due to the antioxidant potential of tea, which protects our cells thereby reducing the risk of cancer in many varieties.

But the world of tea does not begin and end in the tea. Coffee, as popular as tea (or more in some countries) also has things to say about cancer prevention. We do not say only from this because it had been commissioned in the Imperial College London.

We refer to a research published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention, in which a team of British researchers worked with a group of volunteers with glioma. The glioma is like the preamble to the development of brain cancer, which if not treated early and properly can lead to the emergence of the disease in the patient.

The scientists took notice of the coffee consumption habits by study participants, concluding that those who drank coffee more frequently managed to prevent cancer to a greater extent than others.

Among the 300 volunteers, those who drank five cups of coffee or more per day managed to reduce the risk of brain cancer by up to 40% compared to those who consumed less coffee.

The results are equally conclusive. In fact, consuming five cups of coffee can be detrimental to our stress levels and anxiety, because it is an abuse of caffeine. However, the data can be used to study a little closer to the cafe, maybe we stand an excellent complement to tea to prevent cancer.
