Home Treatment of Contact Dermatitis
Other skin conditions that must be taken into account are:
- Toxicodermia: rash drugs commonly suggested by a history of dermatitis that occurs after starting treatment with a new drug.
- Fungal dermatitis, skin infection by fungi. Its diagnosis can be sampled by scraping the skin and examined under a microscope.
What steps can be taken at home?
- Prevention: Wear protective gloves when using irritants (also when you’ll be a long time in contact with water). Clean and thoroughly rinse the skin that has been in contact with irritants.
- Determine the cause: Make a list of products that come in contact with your skin. Record the time they used each substance and see if it causes dermatitis. Note the area of the body has been exposed to each substance and see if the same area of the dermatitis.
- Treatment: avoid the suspected allergen or irritant. This is sometimes not possible, but the use of protective clothing such as gloves, can help. In some cases of occupational exposure, work around-the-job or change jobs, you may need.
