Symptoms of Bronchitis
Depending on whether it is acute bronchitis or chronic bronchitis, the signs and symptoms that patients will suffer are similar, with the difference in the length of it.
As we have symptoms of fever, cough, mucous or purulent sputum according to etiology. Signs and symptoms may be completely absent if the inflammation extends to the trachea and main bronchi.
Inflammation of the bronchi of medium size generates rhonchi and wheezing, usually bilateral. No radiological signs of acute bronchitis. The erythrocyte and leukocyte counts are moderately increased.In healthy adults, bronchitis usually clears up without sequelae in 10-15 days. In the emphysematous respiratory insufficiency can cause serious and sometimes fatal. It can also be dramatic in the newborn and infant. Acute bronchitis is often apparently trivial source of status asthmaticus.
For any of bronchitis, the signs and symptoms may include:
- Cough
- Mucus production, either clear or white or grayish-yellow or green
- Difficulty breathing, exacerbated by mild exercise
- Fatigue
- Slight fever and chills
- Chest discomfort
If the patient had the disease in its acute side can have a persistent cough that lingers for several weeks after the disease disappears. However, the symptoms of bronchitis may be misleading. Not always produce sputum when the patient has bronchitis.
